Beachroad Magazine kick back with Marco Bacini the founder of Rude Concept the Hip Italian t-shirt brand at their new store at Box Park, Dubai.
Founded back in the spring of 2011, the Rude project started taking shape somewhere between Milan, London, Los Angeles and Miami, the brainchild of celebrity PR manager Marco Bacini who says that travelling between these cities helped develop the brand’s direction. The philosophy for Rude Concept is simple, a trendy design that communicates a message.
Born in Milan and totally ‘Made in Italy’, Rude is unique in that it reads the same in both English and Italian.
Bacini's designs are fun don’t take themselves but also send a strong message of character and sensuality.
Making waves across Milan, Rude immediately became a “cult” must-have for all celebrities. The Rude project is a constant work in progress, which continues with the same explosive energy now as it did at the beginning.
What inspired you to start"Rude Concept" and any challenges along the way?
At the moment, the Middle East is a very important place for business and Dubai is a great starting place for entering this new market.
Where do you see "Rude Concept" being in 5 years time?
I see more boutiques popping up in the area and we are planning to open a more permanent retail outlet in the year.
What inspired you to open your store in Dubai?
I love Dubai – I’ve been many times before and I’ve got so many friends living here too. What’s great about this place is that you feel business is more than just numbers out here too, it’s often about heart and passion.
What do you think of Dubai as a city and what is your take on its rapid growth?
Dubai is Dubai, it’s completely unique and there’s no where else like it. It’s a mix of culture, trends, lifestyle whilst always promoting and respecting tradition.
If you were not doing "Rude Concept" what would you be doing?
I did and I wanted to do it all, RIC is my passion.
What do you most enjoy about designing your clothing?
I love to travel around the world looking for inspiration and new trends. When I start designing, all these adventures and memories add to my energy and I get such a great satisfaction from it.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I get to see people in my city Milan wearing something I created and dreamt up. It’s amazing to see people enjoying my designs at home and here in Dubai too now.
Any other t-shirt brands you admire?
I’m a great fan of Givenchy and Marcelo Burlon.
