Beachroad Magazine meets Manu Campa. Manu graduated in Fine Arts in UCM (Madrid) in 2008 working from his studio in Madrid his paintings focus on vintage automobiles and bicycles, light, reflections and a retro feel. Manu also restores vintage motorcycles and crusises the city in his 1953 Oval window VW Bug.

WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON THE ART SCENE IN MADRID AND WHICH ARTISTS EXCITE YOU? // I have been selling my work in this city for a very long time, but my works also sell across Germany, France, American and the UAE.
WHEN DID YOU REALISE THE ART WORLD WAS FOR YOU? // When I was a kid and drawing fascinated me.
YOUR GREATEST LOVE? // My wife and daughter.
YOUR GREATEST FEAR? // Losing my loved ones.
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY? // Riding a bike and crashing when I was four years old.
WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY? // I don't have any, i just keep like as a daily challenge.
YOUR FAVOURITE PRESENT DAY CAR? // I am not a fan of new cars.
YOUR FAVOURITE VINTAGE CAR? // My 1953 VW Beetle.

ARE YOU A MOTORSPORT FAN? IF SO PLEASE TELL US MORE? // Yes I am. There is something about engines running that I have always loved. The smell and sound, Life to the limit. Any YourTube video, From supercar testing to old rotary engines gets my attention straight away, I cannot help it.
YOUR FAVOURITE ARTIST? // Richard Estes maybe. But this changes every couple of months, there are so many great artists.
YOUR FAVOURITE GALLERY? // MARLBOROUGH.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR GREATEST CHALLENGE WITH AN ARTWORK? // Working for specific clients can make things harder. which is why I do not take on commissions these days..
WHAT ART DO YOU MOST IDENTIFY WITH? // Realism from the 1950's to 1970's.
WHAT PIECE OF WORK HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE? // Painting large scale Porsche painting with many reflections.
