NAME? // Izabela Cruz.
YOUR FIRST JOB? // I was just 14 years old… Receptionist at a Dentist Clinic.
YOUR CURRENT OCCUPATION? // International Makeup Artist and Trainer.
WHERE DID YOU TRAIN TO BE A MAKE UP ARTIST? // In Hollywood with a well know Celebrity / Red Carpet Makeup Artist.
AT WHAT AGE DID YOU REALISE THIS WAS THE JOB FOR YOU? // I have been always passionate about the Beauty Industry, but only in my 30’s did I realize it could become a real job.
WHAT IS YOUR TAKE ON DUBAI AS A CITY? // I actually love the fact I live in a Multicultural City, having friends from all over the globe has made me grow as a person. Dubai is a vibrant city which has opened doors for me and given me a lot of opportunities that would take years in my home country and I’m super thankful for that.
HOW DO YOU SEE THE BEAUTY INDUSTRY GROWING AND CHANGING IN DUBAI? // It is very competitive specially with the presence of major international brands. Every month I hear about a brand launching in the UAE. Not mentioning that local brands are also rising not only here but internationally. I expect a Beauty Battle for the Companies and Beauty Diversity to the customers. Even though, I still think majority in this region are very attached to conventional beauty makeup.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MAKE UP ARTIST AND ANY CHALLENGES ALONG THE WAY? // After a long depression period. I found myself playing with my makeup and creating looks on me. With a couple of wigs and makeup I regained my self-esteem just by embodying characters and seeing things in a different perspective.
Challenges was always there but I was so convinced that it didn’t stop me. When I made the decision to dedicate myself to my passion, my first challenge was to create a portfolio, at the time my network was zero so I decided to learn about photography, hairstyle and I ended doing it all by myself.

Basically it color corrects and blurs imperfections giving a beautiful natural glowing finish on my skin. My shade is in Medium Dark ( the perfect tan look).
Shiseido Eyelash Curler, the best… It grabs all my lashes smoothly at one stroke, giving you a super glam curly lashes.
Organic Coconut Oil, I’m addicted to it, I use it daily as Makeup remover, but also as hair mask once a week. It controls hair frizz during summer and also as Body oil after tanning.
Kerastase Resistance, it has literally saved my hair from my regular adventures with coloration. I’m loyally using it for the last 2 years, I have the shampoo, masque and serum.
