Beachroad Magazine meets up with Chloé Albertin the owner of Boudoir Elixir specialising in the import of Agarwood or Oud as it is commonly known.
Chloé was born in Paris to an English mother and a French father and moved to London at the age of 13 and lived there for 7 years. Chloé passed her International Baccalaureate and graduated from the famous Inchbald School of Design in London with a master’s degree in History of Art and Interior Design.
Moving back to Paris she worked as an Interior designer for Saudi Oger for projects in the Middle East and Morocco. Also working on private projects in Lebanon, London, Paris and famous 5* hotels in Paris and London.
Chloé moved to Geneva where she opened a Decoration shop and where she met husband number two. Re locating to Dubai she formed Boudoir Elixir with an old and best friend from Bangladesh who’s family own Agarwood plantations.
Chloé loved the fascinating facts and processes of Oud and started studying in detail and became totally hooked. "I was always attracted to scents and perfume and always looking for that rare and unusual fragrance that would make me different from others. Oud has that rare, very specific scent, you either love it or hate it… but you can’t be indifferent.

NAME? // Chloé Albertin.
YOUR FIRST JOB? // Working for Benetton in the summer for pocket money (at 16) folding jumpers all day !! made me realise i had better work at school to have a good diploma and do what i want.
YOUR CURRENT OCCUPATION? // Founder of 'Boudoir Elixir' selling the raw material Oud.
YOUR GREATEST LOVE? // And pride, my two beautiful sons Eliott (23) and Felix (20).
YOUR GREATEST FEAR? // Spiders.
WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY? // I can still hear the sound of my dad’s BMW (2002 TI) when he used to come home after work i must have been 3 years old.
WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY? // My Grandmother, she is 98 and is the most amazing lady ! she was going to be a very famous actress when she chose to go to Bletchley Park during world war II. She was part of the Elite Bletchley Girls who broke the codes of the Nazis. She spent her life with my Grandfather helping others. She still lives in London in her own house and is an inspiration for many, I love to spend time with her when I am in the UK and listen to her stories and wisdom.
YOUR FAVOURITE AUTOMOTIVE BRAND? // Porsche and TVR. I was playing with cars rather than dolls when i was a child, always loved Porsche, I have had 5 mostly 911s my favourite 993 4S and TVR because their design is totally avant-garde and so fast, totally dangerous less than 1T for 500Bhp.
WHAT OR WHO IS YOUR GREATEST FASHION INFLUENCE? // I dont have one in particular, I have my own style and i can go t the cheapest shop to find one item i like, but still I like Chanel, Missoni and Armani.
WHO IS YOUR GREATEST FRAGRANCE INFLUENCE? // My nose, he makes me mix my different perfumes so i have my real identity that only belongs to me.
WHAT ITEM OF CLOTHING COULD YOU NOT LIVE WITHOUT? // My shoes, especially my Louboutin boots that i manage to wear here in winter in Dubai !

WHAT IS THE LAST GIFT YOU GAVE SOMEONE? // A rose quartz heart shape
to my husband.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE CHILDREN? // Always be true to yourselves, when you become an adult with your own kids you will understand why i did this with you.
YOUR WORST TRAIT? // Too kind, i trust people easily.
THE WORST TRAIT IN OTHERS THAT GETS YOU MAD? // Hypocrites.
WHO WOULD PLAY YOU IN A MOVIE? // I love Monica Bellucci. Some friends told me i look like Ava Gardner, and also Audrey Hepburn (that was when i had long hair, Two days ago someone said i looked like Meg Ryan with my short hair especially when i smile.

LAST BOOK YOU BOUGHT? // La Petite Boutique Japanese by Isabelle Artus (she is my cousin on the French side) and 'A bright moon for fools' by Jasper Gibson ( he is my cousin on the English side).
THE CLOSEST YOU HAVE COME TO DEATH? // What is that?
FAVOURITE DESTINATION? // Italy Porto Novo on the Adriatic Coast, my house in the South of France La Bergerie in Tourrettes Var.
LEAST FAVOURITE DESTINATION? // Any country that is too cold, wet and windy.
HOW DO YOU RELAX? // With meditation every day.
ARE YOU SPORTY? // Yes I have been boxing for 8 years, also Running, Pilates, Zumba, Swimming and Argentinian Tango.
BEACH OR DESERT? // The beach.
URBAN OR RURAL? // Urban.
CATS OR DOGS? // Dogs i have two rescues.

WHAT MAKES YOU LAUGH? // The sarcastic British humour, Monty Python and Absolutely Fabulous.
