Beachroad adjust our mirror and head down the road to meet automotive photographer Amy Shore. Amy's impressive client list includes the likes of Jaguar Land Rover, Triumph, Renault Alpine, Goodwood and RAMP magazine amongst others.

NAME? // Amy Shore.

YOUR FIRST JOB? // Pot washer at a restaurant.

YOUR CURRENT OCCUPATION // Automotive photographer.

WHO WERE YOUR EARLY PHOTOGRAPHIC INFLUENCES? // Laurent Nivalle, Henri Cartier-Bressson, Harry Benson, Don McCullen, Ragnar Axelsson.

WHEN DID YOU REALISE PHOTOGRAPHY WAS FOR YOU? // Age 16 I got my first camera and I loved it, but I didn't ever actually believe it was possible to make a living out of photography!

WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST SIGNIFICANT PHOTOGRAPHIC MOMENT YOU HAVE HAD? // Friends of mine at RM Wilson Engineering, Leicestershire UK, built a replica Ferrari P4. They asked me to photograph it for their own reference. I had never photographed a car before in my life I was just guessing how I was supposed to do it!

YOUR FAVOURITE CAR TO SHOOT? // Austin Mini's. I own one myself so I'm slightly biased, but I think they've got so much honest character about each and every one of them.

IF YOU COULD OWN ANY PIECE OF PHOTOGRAPHY WHAT WOULD IT BE? // Being an ambassador for Nikon has it's perks! I have just got my hands on their brand new D850 which I adore, and can loan out any piece of equipment I like so I'm spoilt for choice!

IF YOU COULD SPEND A DAY WITH ANY PHOTOGRAPHER ALIVE OR DEAD WHO WOULD IT BE? // Henri Cartier-Bresson, for sure. I'd love to see how he worked, how he spoke to his subjects if at all. I think he'd be absolutely fascinating to see work.

YOU CAN SPEND A DAY WITH ANY F1 STAR WHO WOULD IT BE? // Dead or alive? Either James Hunt or Niki Lauda. I think their rivalry and friendship make them both awesome characters to spend a day with.

YOUR FAVOURITE PHOTOGRAPHIC GALLERY? // National Portrait Gallery, London.

DO YOU SHOOT ON FILM OR DIGITAL? // Digital, always.

DID YOU STUDY PHOTOGRAPHY AND IF SO WHERE? // Nope! I'm completely self taught!

IF YOU OWNED A GALLERY WHAT WOULD YOU CALL IT? // Something like 'The Eyes of the Adventurers' - I think a lot of photographers get the chance to see and do some awesome things and we're all adventurers in one way or another!

IF YOU WERE NOT A PHOTOGRAPHER WHAT WOULD YOU BE DOING? // I'd be an art teacher. I've always loved the idea of teaching and it's what I would have gone into if photography didn't work out!

IF YOU WERE ONLY ALLOWED ONE MORE ROLL OF FILM TO SHOOT, WHAT WOULD YOU PHOTOGRAPH? // I'd take it on a 36 day road trip where I could only photograph 1 image a day. It would really, really make me have to think what I was shooting and how to portray the day!

WHAT PHOTOGRAPHY DO YOU MOST IDENTIFY WITH? // Photojournalism. I feel my skills and interest could be applied to news photography, war photography or anything following a story or a person/group. It just so happens that my subjects are cars and bikes!

WHAT PIECE OF WORK HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE? // Loneliness. Travelling a lot is amazing and I hang out with some truly amazing people, but you end up never seeing those people after the shoot and I'm away from my close friends and family a lot.

PHOTOGRAPHY ASIDE, WHAT INSPIRES YOU? // Passionate people. People who love what they do, have interests and want to see the world and make it a better place as they go along.

WHERE IS YOUR DREAM STUDIO LOCATION? // I have never photographed in a studio in my life and have no intention of starting! So instead, my dream office location would be somewhere in the Cotswolds, UK. It'd be a converted barn or coach house that I could also have a collection of cars and bikes in!

DOES YOUR FAMILY FOLLOW YOUR LOVE OF AUTOMOBILES? // My dad got me into it! He used to work for Lotus F1 back in the '80s so my love stemmed from that! I try to bring him on lots of shoots with me now!

YOUR GREATEST LOVE? // Other than the obvious loved ones and my job, it would be music. I love listening to music everywhere I am and finding new music.

YOUR GREATEST FEAR? // One day, not being able to do my job or not being hired for jobs anymore.

WHAT IS YOUR EARLIEST MEMORY? // Driving with my Dad in his old white Mini asking him questions about when I was born. I also asked about starting school so I guess I was about 4 years old.

WHO IS YOUR ROLE MODEL AND WHY? // Elspeth Beard - the first British woman to ride around the world on a motorbike. She did it totally on her own and younger than I am now. I met her just a few weeks ago for a shoot and have been reading her new book since. Her courage and love for adventure is just incredible.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE JOURNEY AND DESTINATION? // Any drive or ride up and around the Scottish highlands. I absolutely love the solidarity up there and the scenery is just spectacular. It warms my heart just to think about it!

WHAT IS THE LAST GIFT YOU GAVE SOMEONE? // It was my boyfriend's birthday last week so I got him a framed print of his 1930 Ford Model A Coupe from the artist Capsule.

WHAT IS YOUR MOST TREASURE POSSESSION? // Probably my great grandmother's eternity ring that I wear on my right hand. It has been passed down through generations and my Mum gave it to me a couple of years ago

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE CHILDREN? // Do what you love. You will be far happier earning less in a job you love than earning lots in a job you hate. Be kind to all those around you as everyone needs a little more happiness in the world.

WHAT KEEPS YOU UP AT NIGHT? // Emails. They're the bane of my life. I'm just so bad at replying because I'm shooting or travelling and I end up feeling really guilty for not getting back to people!

YOUR WORST TRAIT? // I'm difficult to get hold of, so I've been told. Without any sense of routine and working away a lot, I don't get to see my friends often, or I'll read work emails whilst running for a flight. Perhaps I need to organise my time better!

THE WORST TRAIT IN OTHERS THAT GETS YOU MAD? // Putting someone down for lack of knowledge, or incorrect knowledge. In the photography world especially, there are a lot of 'anoraks' or 'rivet counters' who will not hesitate to mock someone for getting information wrong or not knowing something. Get off your high horse and respectfully enlighten, don't be all big headed about it.

YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIES? // Secret Life of Walter Mitty, The World's Fasted Indian,  Seeking a Friend for the End of the World

WHO WOULD PLAY YOU IN A MOVIE? // I'd like to say Jennifer Lawrence! I think she's so cool and will make me look a lot cooler than I actually am!!

FAVOURITE MUSIC // The Black Keys, The Arcs, Alabama Shakes, The Velvet Underground, Caamp, James Brown, Ray Charles, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros (this list could be very, very long...)

LAST RECORD / DOWNLOAD YOU BOUGHT? // I have Spotify! So the last song I added was Buddy Holly's Rave On.

FAVOURITE BOOK? // Patrick Rothfuss - The Name of the Wind

LAST BOOK YOU BOUGHT? // Elspeth Beard - Lone Rider

THE CLOSEST YOU HAVE COME TO DEATH? // Lightening struck my garden where I was going to be, had my Mum not called me back into the house!

HOW DO YOU RELAX? // Listening to music whilst riding my motorbike on empty country lanes.

CATS OR DOGS? // Cats.

WHATS MAKES YOU CRY? // Heart string pulling videos or a soppy text.

YOUR MOTTO / MESSAGE? // This life is full of adventure, go out and live it to the absolute best of your ability.
