Beachroad Magazine catch up with Alia Korayem, Founder of WEST L.A. Boutique at Sunset Mall on Beachroad.
Alia was was born on July 12, 1987 in Cairo, Egypt. At a young age she developed a passion for fashion watching the glamorous women in her family always dress up for any occasion.
Alia moved to West L.A., California in 2004 where she studied Mass Communication in LAVC. In 2010, she wanted to move closer to her family who were based in Saudi Arabia and with her L.A. roots and lifestyle, Dubai was the perfect transition. Alia decided to chase her fashion dream and enrolled in a fashion course within ESMOD University. On the hunt for the same L.A. shopping experience she had, Alia would shop her favorite L.A. based brands online.
Constantly receiving compliments on her outfits and inquires on where they were from, she realized a niche in the fashion market that needed to be filled; hence The WEST L.A. concept was born. On March 23rd 2012, WEST L.A. Boutique opened its doors to the public. In less than a year, Alia Korayem decided to cater to the fashion-savvy men of Dubai and on January 16th, 2013, the WEST L.A. men’s store opened. Two years later, after much demand, Alia decided to launch the e-commerce platform – www.westlaboutique.com – shipping worldwide.
Today WEST L.A. Boutique is a fashion favorite to regional and global customers. With big plans in the pipeline such as vintage and homeware, Alia Korayem proves that the sky is the limit when it comes to making your dreams a reality.
