Beachroad Magazine chat food and drink at Le Trésor the Classic Car Cafe in Box Park with Alessandro Squartecchia restaurant GM at Meeras.

Alessandro was first introduced to the Hospitality Industry in 2001 in Sanremo, Italy, where he owned and ran and managed two Disco Clubs and Lounge Bars.

In 2008 he became owner and Manager of Il Girasole, a cute restaurant located in Limone Piemonte, a ski resort in the Maritimes Alps, Italy.

In 2011 he moved to Dubai, working as Assistant Restaurant Manager in Carluccio’s, an Italian casual-dining concept structured with a dine-in area offering freshly prepared high quality products with a friendly and informal service and a Deli area offering special food items coming from Italy. Caterer Middle East awarded him and his Marina Mall’s team as “Best Casual Dining Team of the Year”.

In 2013 he accepted a Restaurant Manager role in Café Bateel, a new concept in casual dining, offering a unique range of gourmet foods and beverages. The Café Bateel menu embodies the ancient Umbrian culinary heritage and a rich tradition of Arabian hospitality. BBC Good Food Middle East awarded him and his team as “Casual Dining – Best Café 2013”

Alessandro joined Meraas in March 2015 as Cluster Restaurant General Manager role, managing now three restaurants: Le Tresor, Big Chefs Studio and Bikes ‘n Bites, all located in Boxpark.

Le Tresor is a 90 covers French-Mediterranean bistro inspired to the classic cars ambience, offering a menu of 70 types of dishes for an all-day dining experience, all presented and served with an elegant and premium casual signature.

Big Chefs Studio is the second Dubai outpost of the Big Chefs restaurant chain that originated in Turkey. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone, with a range of juices, mocktails, salads, starters, pizzas, pastas, burgers, sandwiches, mains, and dessert. The interior is decorated like a stylish and comfortable living room with mismatched pendant lights and a variety of dining tables and chairs with different upholstery.

Bikes ‘n Bites is a 230 covers uniquely designed American smoke-house concept which aims to represent a destination venue for bike’s lovers. The interior pays homage to the industrial garage style and has eye- catching displays of classic bikes, biking memorabilia, and a retail area. A great mouth-watering menu proposes different types of slow-cooked smoked meats, served from an open theatre kitchen.

Alessandro works with passion and determination, believing in this motto: only good food, good drink
and good service will make a successful restaurant.

What is your take on Dubai as a City and its rapid growth? //

I like the way Dubai is growing and I’m appreciating the big effort the Government is doing to keep it smooth against car traffic, road issues and diversions.

Where do you like to eat, shop and socialise in our community?//

Bikes ‘n Bites, Big Chefs Studio, Dri Dri, Big Smoke Burger, Kwai all at Box Park in Al Wasl and Le Trésor obviously.

In Jumeirah I like Café Bateel at Town Centre Mall and Paul in Mercato Mall, Also Shoufi Mafi nearby Mercato Mall and Cocoa Kitchen and coffee house The Brass both at City Walk.
